14 Wrestlers have been chosen for the Clash Scholar/Athlete award, named in the memory of Hall of Fame wrestler and U.S. Senator, Paul Wellstone. These awards are presented annually to Clash competitors based upon their academic achievements, community involvement, dedication to their family, and athletic performance.
The Clash III organizing committee would like to extend its congratulations to the fine student athletes that were chosen for this prestigious award and encourage them to raise the bar even higher for those that follow. They are to be commended for their community, family, church and school involvement as well.
The following athletes have been awarded the Wellstone Scholar/Athlete award and will receive a trophy at the Clash tournament in recognition of their achievement:
